Brutus was a French band formed in 1971 by guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Christian Boule and keyboardist/vocalist/songwriter Jean-Paul "Jan" Draper. The band blended influences of classical music, rock, and jazz to create their unique sound. Their debut album, "Excerpts from the First Concert by the Society of Free Music," was released in 1972.
